Forrest update

Some of you may not know yet, but a small dog was dropped off at the classroom Tuesday, June 9th.  The PM class named him "Forrest" because he was running in the road and Mr. Coates caught him.  His dew claw was injured and we took a walking field trip down to Vista Vet Clinic.  No microchip & they kept him overnight.  X-rays revealed a broken toe (dew claw) so they removed it.  He also has a really messed up back, but no broken bones - he's just genetically not so great.

Dr. Privette decided to take care of Forrest as a charity case, so the bill was taken care of by Vista Vet.  Please take the time to thank them for their generosity!  :-)  Since I had already paid for an office visit, I went ahead and got some food with the credit.

I will be posting pictures later, since I am going to the Richland Parks & Rec meeting tonight - the dog park is on the agenda.  He plays with all my dogs just fine, but Foster isn't as nice to him as Daisy and Charlie are.  And Honey does her usual tolerating.  The Culinary Arts assistant teacher (Becky Carr) is going to adopt him.  I hope she takes him for the weekend and then she starts summer school on Monday.  I'm going to see if she will take him for the evenings and drop him off for the day on her way to school.  We also think we can rig up a kennel or bed in her office and use a doggie gate, being as how he can't jump too high.

Pass the word to the rest of the class regarding Forrest.  Does anyone know if I need to put everyone's e-mail addresses in here for people to leave comments?  Or can anyone leave a comment for all to read?
